Atlanta Regional Roundtable Tele-Town Halls

The Atlanta Regional Roundtable is hosting a series of town hall meetings by telephone this and next week. Each county will have it's own town hall meeting the ARC staff and the elected officials representing that county. Those joining the town halls will be allowed to ask questions as well as respond to poll questions being asked by the ARC. The number to join the town hall is 1-888-886-6603. Moving to Opportunity in Cobb County: A Community Forum

Citizens for Progressive Transit has joined with the Livable Communities Coalition and the Partnership for Southern Equity to host a community forum in Cobb County to educate voters and riders about the Transportation Investment Act of 2012. MARTA Public Hearings

MARTA has once again proposed service changes and fare increases in response to the fiscal year 2011 budget. Public hearings will be held next week, on May 16th and 17th, around the metro region in regards to these changes. Fair Share for Transit Campaign

The Regional Roundtable, which will be deciding on the project list for the Transportation Investment Act to be voted on in 2012, wants your help as it prepares to make tough decisions.

They have released this survey asking the public to complete and tell them your transportation priorities for the future. The survey is available until May 15th.

Beltline Implementation Strategy: Be Involved!

Last week the Beltline attended CfPT's monthly board meeting to discuss their implementation strategy and which segments they are considering to submit to the TSPLOST project list. For the next few weeks, the Beltline will be hosting community meetings to gather public comment on these suggested segments in order to make their final decisions. CfPT gears up to aid the TSPLOST vote in 2012

Municipalities are due to submit their project list to the ARC for inclusion in the TSPLOST referendum by March 30th and CfPT is partnering with the Livable Communities Coalition to kick off a campaign to impact the list and ensure that transit is well represented when it goes to vote.
